6.
I installed the program, but it doesn't monitor any traffic.
Why?
The easiest way to check if the program is working or not,
is to select ALL connections in 'Monitor Connections', make
sure the phone is not connected to PC, and browse some web
pages in Internet Explorer, then check if any traffic is
recorded.
--- Install the program 'on phone' (in the main
memory) ---
The Smartphone GPRS Traffic Monitor
is especially designed to be small and green, we strongly
recommend you to install the program in the device's main
memory with reassurance and enjoy the best performance.
The Smartphone GPRS Traffic Monitor monitors
GPRS activities in real-time, it requires fast access to
the storage (record data). SD cards are very limited in
handling such process, hence often cause problems such as
losing traffic record, and may even prevent the home screen
plug-in or the monitoring module from being launched at
phone start up. In such case, simply remove the program
then install it again 'on phone' (in the main memory) will
solve the problem.
--- Monitor both GPRS Internet and
WAP connections ---
** Smartphone **
Please goto 'Start->Settings->Data Connections', if
'Internet Connection' is set to 'Automatic', the phone may
use GPRS as well as WAP connection for the Internet (web,
email etc.), which means if you only monitor the GPRS connection
(e.g. 'Orange GPRS') without monitoring WAP (e.g. 'Orange
WAP'), the program could miss your Internet traffic. In
such case, please select monitoring both GPRS and WAP connections
in the program Options.
** Pocket PC **
Please goto 'Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->Tasks'
, under you mobile service provider's GPRS package name
(e.g. 'Orange World'), click 'Manage existing connections'
, then 'Modem' tab. If 'Auto pick' is selected, then the
Pocket PC may use GPRS as well as WAP connection for the
Internet (web, email etc.), which means if you only monitor
the GPRS connection (e.g. 'Orange GPRS Internet') without
monitoring WAP (e.g. 'Orange GPRS WAP'), the program could
miss your Internet traffic. In such case, please select
monitoring both GPRS and WAP connections in the program
Options.

7. The program does not measure traffic
when I use my Smartphone/Pocket PC as a modem, and connect
my PC to the Internet over GPRS. Why?
The GPRS Traffic Monitor is especially designed to monitor
GPRS traffic 'on the Smartphone/Pocket PC'. The program
currently does not support monitoring GPRS connections established
from a PC. So if you connect your Smartphone/Pocket PC to
a PC using Bluetooth or USB as a modem, and then connect
the PC to the Internet over the mobile GPRS Dialup Networks,
the monitor will not count.
