Efficasoft - Orchid Shortcut User Manual

Orchid Shortcut Plugin is a home screen shortcut plugin for Windows Mobile Smartphone. It is a replacement for the MRU (Most Recently Used) list with supports for fast access to all your Start menu items or own defined shortcut groups from home screen.

Orchid Shortcut Plugin is written by Orchid Mobile Software, and is distributed and supported by Efficasoft Co., Ltd.

II. Features

Group Shortcuts: You can define groups for different shortcuts. Groups can be easily selected by pressing Left/Right key on the home screen.
Integrate MRU: The system MRU list can be assigned as a group, and you can even choose whether to display name of the shortcut or not.
Fully Customizable: Groups and shortcuts are fully customizable, and all these can be done in the friendly dialog interface - there's no need to modify the home screen XML file manually.
Detailed Settings: You can set every group's shortcut sort mode, whether to display shortcut name or not and etc. You can choose to sort the shortcut by last use or use frequency.
Directory Supports: You can assign all (or some, you decide) subfolders and files under a directory to a group, and display them as shortcuts.
Built-in Tools: Start, Shutdown etc., you can put them in any group you want.
Full Support: Fully supports Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003/2003 SE/WM 5.0. Supports QVGA and standard size screens.

III. Installation

Installation: Connect your Smartphone to a computer with ActiveSync installed. After building up a partnership, double-click the EXE setup file and follow the instructions on screen. Or, you may go to the 'CAB Link' in download section on products page using Smartphone Internet Explorer, and download the CAB Installer directly to your device. Once the download is complete, the installation will begin.
Uninstallation: Orchid Shortcut Plugin can be removed in 'Start->Settings->Remove Programs'.

IV. Use

Main Interface: Home screens with Orchid Shortcut Plugin installed will display a line of group labels and a shortcut icon list, you can use them to launch the program you want.
Select Group: Press Up/Down to move to the group labels on the home screen, use the Left/Right key to select the group you want, the shortcut icon list will change automatically.
Launch Program: Press Up/Down to move to the shortcut icon list on the home screen, then use the Left/Right key to select the shortcut, press Action to launch the program.

V. Options

Open Options Dialog: Select the 'Options' icon in the shortcuts list and start it. In default group settings, the 'Options' icon is in group 'Plugin'.
Options Dialog: List all groups.

Left Menu 'Action':

Add: Add a new group.

Delete: Delete the selected group.

Edit: Open the Edit Group dialog to edit the selected group settings.

Move Up: Move the selected group up.

Move Down: Move the selected group down.

Restore Default: Restore all groups to default settings after installation.

Default Settings: Set default settings.

Right Menu 'Menu':

OK: Save all changes to options.

Cancel: Cancel all changes to options.

Help: Show this user manual.

About: Open 'About' dialog.

Register: Open 'Register' dialog.

Shortcut Keys:

Action: Edit the selected group.

Left: Move the selected group up.

Right: Move the selected group down.
Default Settings Dialog: This dialog is used to edit group default settings.

Sort Mode: Default, None, Recent and Frequency.

Application Name: Show/Hide shortcut name on the right of the icon list.

Visible Icons: Number of icons to show when displays Application Name.

Highlight Color: Color of the group name text when selected.

Show Shortcuts First: Show shortcut list before groups.

OK: Save settings and close the dialog.

Cancel: Cancel all changes and close the dialog.
Edit Group Dialog: Edit the selected group settings.

Caption: Name of the group.

Type: Group type. Recent (the system MRU list) and Shortcut (user defined shortcut list).

Sort Mode: Shortcut sort mode. Default, None, Recent and Frequency.

Application Name: Show/Hide shortcut name on the right of the shortcut list.

Visible Icons: Number of icons to show when displays Application Name.

Left Menu 'OK': Save settings and close the dialog.

Right Menu 'Menu':

Shortcut: Add shortcuts for the group.

Cancel: Cancel all changes and close the dialog.
Shortcut List Dialog: List group's shortcut list.

Left Menu 'OK': Save all changes and close the dialog.

Right Menu 'Menu':

Add: Add a new shortcut.

Delete: Delete the selected shortcut.

Edit: Edit the selected shortcut.

Move Up: Move the selected shortcut up.

Move Down: Move the selected shortcut down.

Cancel: Cancel all changes and close the dialog.

Shortcut Keys:

Action: Edit the select shortcut.

Left: Move the selected shortcut up.

Down: Move the selected shortcut down.
Edit Shortcut Dialog: Edit shortcut parameters.

Shortcut Type: None, File, Folder and Command.

Confirm before Execute: Popup confirmation dialog before execute this shortcut.

File Type: Set filename and arguments. A file browser is also available.

Folder Type: Set folder name, file mask, and whether to show subfolder or not. A directory browser is available.

Command Type: Select built-in tools.

OK: Save changes and close the dialog.

Cancel: Cancel all changes and close the dialog.

VII Register
